The Impact of Pregnancy on My Life and Business
How pregnancy shifted my mindset, energy, and
business strategy.
I never imagined just how much pregnancy would change me—how it would shift my mindset, my priorities, and even the way I run my business. It’s been such a journey, and one that’s forced me to really look at how I’m living and working, especially when it comes to wellness and self-care. Before getting pregnant, I thought I had all of that figured out, but now I see things so differently. And I wanted to share some of those shifts with you because it’s really impacted how I show up in both my personal and professional life.
Slowing Down to Speed Up
You know how I’ve always been go, go, go? Well, pregnancy pretty much stopped me in my tracks. I’ve had to learn how to slow down, which hasn’t been easy for someone who’s always been super driven and used to juggling a million things at once. But here’s the thing—I’ve discovered that slowing down doesn’t mean I’m losing progress. It’s actually been the opposite.
When I give myself permission to pause and just be, I feel like I can breathe again, and that space has allowed me to see things more clearly. I’m making better decisions because I’m not rushing through everything. In my business, I’ve become way more intentional with how I plan things out, and I’m realizing that taking my time doesn’t mean I’m falling behind. It means I’m building something more aligned with who I am right now.
Wellness and Self-Care: No Longer Optional
Let’s be real—pregnancy is no joke! Growing a tiny human is hard work, and it’s taken my self-care game to a whole new level. I’ve always preached the importance of self-care, but now it’s something I absolutely need to function. My body and mind require more support than ever, and I’ve had to get serious about my routines.
My mornings have become so sacred to me. I’ve started incorporating longer stretches of time for things like journaling, gentle yoga, or even just sipping tea in silence. These moments have become my anchor, helping me feel more grounded and in tune with what I need that day. And it’s funny because these little shifts have also changed how I approach my workday. I don’t pack my schedule anymore. Instead, I’m mindful of what energy I’m bringing into each task, and it’s made a world of difference.
In fact, I’ve even woven more wellness into my business offerings. I’m all about encouraging my clients to embrace these same rituals because I know firsthand how game-changing they are—especially when life feels overwhelming.
Redefining Productivity: Flow Over Force
Before getting pregnant, I used to measure my productivity by how much I could check off my to-do list. If I wasn’t busy all day, I’d feel guilty, like I wasn’t doing enough. But pregnancy has flipped that script for me. I’ve learned that productivity isn’t about constant action—it’s about working in flow with my energy.
As a Reflector in Human Design, I know that my energy ebbs and flows in cycles, and I’ve worked hard to honor that by allowing more space and time for rest when I need it. But pregnancy has taken this to a whole new level. It’s like I’ve been forced to embrace flow in ways I never anticipated. Some days, I feel super energized and creative, and I’m able to get a lot done. But other days, the fatigue or nausea kicks in, and I simply have to surrender.
Pregnancy has deepened my connection to my Reflector energy. I’ve become more attuned to my natural rhythms, allowing myself to ride the waves of energy and creativity when they’re there, and resting without guilt when they’re not. And honestly, this change has been such a relief. I’m not fighting against myself anymore, trying to push through just to meet an arbitrary deadline. Instead, I’m embracing flow over force, and it’s made me more effective and way happier in both life and business.
I’ve even started sharing this approach with my clients, helping them create schedules and routines that work with their natural energy instead of against it. It’s been a total game-changer for them, and it all starts with honoring where we are and letting go of the pressure to constantly be doing.
Embracing Flexibility in Life and Business
If there’s one thing pregnancy will teach you, it’s that you can’t plan everything! I used to be so rigid with my schedules, always needing to know exactly what was coming next. But between the mood swings, fatigue, and all the unexpected moments, I’ve had to let go of a lot of that control.
Now, I’ve learned to roll with the punches. If something doesn’t go as planned, I don’t stress as much. I’ve started embracing flexibility in both my life and business, which has been so freeing. Instead of rigid deadlines, I focus on progress. And if I need to pivot, I do it without guilt.
This shift has allowed me to be more creative and adaptable in how I run Blossom & Stone. I’ve also introduced more flexibility for my clients because I know life can throw curveballs at them too. We all deserve grace when things don’t go perfectly, right?
Trusting My Intuition More Than Ever
I don’t know if it’s the hormones or just the magic of pregnancy, but I feel so much more connected to my intuition these days. It’s like my inner voice is louder than ever, and I’ve been learning to trust it in ways I never have before.
In the past, I’d overthink things or second-guess myself, especially when it came to business decisions. Now, I trust the process. I check in with how something feels before moving forward, and that’s been my guide. This new way of navigating life and business feels so aligned, and honestly, I’m making decisions with more ease and confidence.
This intuitive approach has also helped me create deeper connections with my clients. I feel like I’m able to guide them from a more authentic place, helping them trust their own inner wisdom too.
A New Chapter of Alignment and Ease
This whole pregnancy journey has been such a beautiful teacher for me. It’s shown me how important it is to slow down, take care of myself, and honor the flow of life. I’m still learning, but I feel so much more aligned with who I am and where I’m headed, both as a mother-to-be and a business owner.
As I get closer to welcoming this little one, I’m excited about this next chapter, not just in motherhood but in how I’m building Blossom & Stone. There’s a new sense of ease and abundance that I’m bringing into everything I do, and I’m so grateful for the lessons that pregnancy has brought into my life.
Thanks for being on this journey with me. It’s always evolving, but I’m feeling more ready than ever for what’s next. ❤️
